Biography

For close to sixteen years Fernando Palomo has worked at ESPN Deportes and ESPN International as host of renowned shows as SportsCenter and “Fuera de Juego, an international soccer debate show. Covering events such as World Cups, World Championships, Olympics and announcing some of the most important games in past European Nations Cups and the UEFA Champions Leagues. 

Member of El Salvador’s national track and field team, from 1990 to 1999. National record holder in the javelin throw event since 1994. Competed in the 1995 World Championships in Athletics (Gothenburg, Sweden), the 1998 Central American Games (Maracaibo, Venezuela), 1998 Ibero-American Games (Lisbon, Portugal). Member of Texas A&M’s track and field team. Competed in the 1996 NCAA Track and Field Championships.

Fernando Palomo is the official voice of EA Sports FIFA video game since the 2013 edition. 

2006-Present
Host of “Fuera de Juego” ESPN Deportes’ and ESPN Latin America’s soccer daily soccer debate show. Soccer announcer for La Liga, Serie A, English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, EURO, World Cup qualifiers and CONCACAF Champion’s League. Hosted and announced at the Pan American Games of 2007 and 2011, London Olympic Games 2012. Host of the ESPY Awards for ESPN Latin America.
2003-2006
Anchored the first ever ESPN SportsCenter for the Hispanic audience in the United States. Hosted 2006 World Cup studio show. Covered the 2003 Panamerican Games, 2004 Olympics, 2006 UEFA Champions League Final as well as the 2005 and 2006 Masters from Augusta National Golf Club and the US Open from Pinehurst No.2.
2000-2003
Anchored the first ever ESPN SportsCenter for the Latin-American market. Covered the 2002 World Cup South America qualifiers, the 2002 Central American Games. Hosted the studio show for the 2002 UEFA Champions League Final and the 2002 World Cup.
