CEO and founder of Kin Analytics

Biography

Andrés Pérez is the CEO and founder of Kin Analytics, an international consulting firm offering Machine Learning and Analytics customized services. Kin Analytics has an advanced soccer data collection software and practices, statistical algorithms, predictive models and propietary KPIs. However, the main competitive advantage Kin Analytics offers, is a full methodology for proper implementation and management of analytics in a soccer club. While data and technological solutions for soccer have exponentially increased in recent years, know-how on how to make proper use of these solutions and not fall into pitfalls of ‘bad analytics’ (for purpose of being brief) has not kept up at the same pace.

Kin Analytics has worked with some of the top proffessional clubs in Brazil including, Grêmio, Athlético Paranaense and Palmeiras implementing our unique methodology and having seen great results and a change in culture as to how analytics is viewed and used in the South American continent. We have participated with our partner clients in a Copa do Brazil title (2016 with Grêmio, our first client and first year in Brazil), Copa Sudamericana (2018 Athletico Paranaense) and Brazil Serie A (2018 with Palmeiras), having served as analytics partners of these innovative clubs in those seasons.

Kin Analytics also took control of a semi-pro club in Ecuador in the 5th division in 2016, Atlético Kin, which participates today int he 3rd division as a proffessional club of Ecuador. The club serves as an experimental lab for new techniques and tools Kin Analytics develops. Our goal is to take the team to the top tier of Ecuadorian soccer and become a leader in technological and analytical innovation globally.

Andrés has a MSc in Applied Statistics from Villanova University, with a final research project focused on soccer predictive modelling, and has completed coursework for a PhD in Statistics in Temple University, awaiting dissertation completion.
